77th Annual Golden Globe Awards POC Winners

The 77th Annual Golden Globes Awards took place on January 5th, 2020. As previously reported, there were a total of 18 people of color and POC-themed projects nominated across nine awards categories. 

During the ceremony, the following people of color and POC-themed projects took home the award.

Best Performance by an Actor in a Television Series - Musical or Comedy: Rising star Ramy Hassan took home the award for his starring role in comedy series Ramy, which focuses on a first-generation Egyptian-American who is on a spiritual journey in his politically divided New Jersey neighborhood. 

Best Foreign Language Film: Korean director Bong Joon-ho took home the award for directing the across the board critics favorite international film Parasite.

Best Performance by an Actress in a Motion Picture - Musical or Comedy: Another rising star Awkwafina bagged an award for her first leading role in The Farewell.
