It has been announced that Mario Lopez, actor and TV host best known for his roles on Saved by the Bell and several of its spinoffs, is to host this year’s Daytime Emmy Awards, which are to take place this October.
This comes as part of an exclusive collaboration between the National Academy of Television Arts and Sciences (NATAS), which distributes Daytime, Sports, News and Documentary, and Children's and Family Emmys, and Access Hollywood, the entertainment news program which Lopez co-hosts.
Starting from Monday, October 13, 2025, Access Hollywood will host five nights of dedicated Daytime Emmys coverage, culminating with the awards ceremony itself, which is to be held at the Pasadena Civic Auditorium in California on Friday, October 17, 2025.
NATAS has also announced the recipients for its Gold and Silver Circle honorees, designed to recognize “exceptional professionals who have performed distinguished service within the television industry, setting standards for achievement, mentoring, leadership and professional accolades for 50 or 25 years, respectively. They represent the best and brightest in the industry.”
Receiving the Gold Circle will be General Hospital star Jane Elliott, whilst the Silver Circle inductees include Greg Barna, Judy Blye Wilson, Star Jones, Kate Linder, and James Reynolds.
“We’re thrilled to be working with Access Hollywood and having Mario Lopez host this year’s Daytime Emmy Awards,” stated NATAS president and CEO Adam Sharp. “As a beloved figure in daytime television himself, Mario brings the perfect blend of energy, familiarity, and star power to the stage.”
This will also mark the first time since 2018 that members of the public will be able to attend the ceremony. A limited number of tickets are currently on sale through Ticketmaster.
