Nominations Announced For 2025 Clue Awards
The nominations have been announced for this year’s Clue Awards, an annual celebration of true crime programming across media. Held each year since 2017, the event aims to recognize “excellence and responsible storytelling” in coverage of true crime throughout a wide range of formats, including film, TV, podcasts, and publishing.
This year’s ceremony will be hosted by the hip-hop legend and star of Law & Order: SVU, Ice-T. Also presenting on stage will be the CSI franchise creator Anthony E. Zuiker, ABC News’ John Quiñones, Dr. Ann Burgess, and Matt Murphy. Meanwhile, the Crimefighter of the Year award will be presented by last year’s winner, John Walsh.
A separate award for America’s Greatest Detective, which honors real-life law enforcement professionals, has as its finalists Sergeant Julissa Trapp of Anaheim, who worked on the case of serial killer Steven Dean Gordon, Jeffrey Babauta, who investigated underground alligator poaching, and Sergeant Matthew Vartanian and Detective Andrew Houghton, whose work on a cold case inspired the true crime podcast Someone Knows Something.
The event is to take place on Wednesday, September 6, 2025, as part of CrimeCon 2025: Denver. A list of the nominations can be found below.
