The 14th Annual Dorian TV Awards POC Winners

The 14th annual Dorian TV Awards winners have been named, and POC nominees managed to rake in seven wins at this year’s ceremony. The Dorian Awards are film and television honors given by GALECA: The Society of LGBTQ Entertainment Critics, founded in 2009 as the Gay and Lesbian Entertainment Critics Association (GALECA). GALECA is an association of professional journalists and critics who report on movies, TV, and streaming programs for print, online, and broadcast outlets in the United States, Canada, Australia, and the United Kingdom. Currently, GALECA is comprised of 360 films, TV, and pop culture critics and journalists originating from the aforementioned countries. The awards recognize the best in film, television, and performance, with categories ranging from general to LGBTQ-specific.

The film edition of GALECA’s 14th Dorian Film Awards nominees will be revealed in January 2023. The POC winners are listed below.

  • Best TV Comedy: Abbott Elementary (ABC)

  • Best LGBTQ TV Show: Heartstopper (Netflix)

  • Best Non-English Language TV Show: Squid Game (Netflix)

  • Best Current Affairs Program: Ziwe (Showtime)

  • Best Reality TV Show: RuPaul’s Drag Race (VH1)

  • Most Visually Striking TV Show: Euphoria (HBO)

  • GALECA LGBTQIA+ TV Trailblazer: Jerrod Carmichael
