The 15 annual South African Film and Television Awards (SAFTA's) took place on May 22, 2021, during a live broadcast. Among the big winners were How to Ruin Christmas: The Wedding (TV comedy) which took home eight awards, The River (TV soap & telenovela) which took home seven awards, and Legacy (TV drama) & Riding with Sugar (Film) which both took home five awards.
