A bill affecting Georgia’s film and television production tax credit policy was not passed. A proposed bill, HB 1180, would have limited annual tax credit transfers to 2.5% of the state’s budget - which would currently equate to about $900 million. The terms only would be enacted if Georgia was in financial distress - specifically if a calendar year’s Revenue Shortfall Reserve funds were less than 10% of the previous fiscal year’s net revenue. A slightly different version of the bill, which exempted Georgia's biggest sound stages, and their productions, from the cap, also did not pass.
