Motion Picture: Jennifer Lopez Will Star in ‘The Last Mrs. Parrish’, Margaret Odette Joins The Cast of ‘Real, True’

Action/Horror/Fantasy/Sci-Fi: Marvel Studios officially released the first trailer for The Fantastic Four: First Steps, offering fans a retro-futuristic glimpse into the upcoming superhero film after its CinemaCon debut. Ryan Coogler’s Sinners, a vampire horror film starring Michael B. Jordan, hit theaters on April 18th, Easter Weekend. Marking Coogler’s first original concept since Fruitvale Station, the film follows twin brothers Smoke and Stack—both played by Jordan—as they return to their hometown and confront supernatural threats beyond vampires. Playing blues music as a key thematic and mystical force, Sinners was shot in Ultra Panavision 70 with IMAX capabilities, making it a cinematic event. Coogler calls it his most personal film yet and credits Warner Bros. for fully supporting his artistic vision.

Elegance Bratton’s crime thriller By Any Means has expanded its star-studded cast with Nicole Beharie, Giancarlo Esposito, Josh Lucas, David Strathairn, Ethan Embry, LisaGay Hamilton, and LaChanze. Esposito will portray NAACP leader Vernon Dahmer, who the KKK killed for his civil rights work. The film, led by Yahya Abdul-Mateen II and Mark Wahlberg, follows a secret FBI mission to hunt down the murderers of civil rights leaders in 1966 Mississippi. Based on Sascha Penn’s Black List script, the project is now filming in Atlanta.

Veteran filmmaker George Tillman Jr. is set to direct Nanny Cam, a suspenseful thriller in development at Amazon, MGM Studios, and Orion Pictures. Based on Nelson Greaves’ short story, the film follows a couple who must race back to save their children after spotting a stranger in their home via a nanny cam. Known for The Hate U Give, Soul Food, and Barbershop, Tillman Jr. brings his sharp storytelling to the project, reuniting with long-term producing partner Bob Teitel under their State Street Pictures banner.
