Receipts: ‘F1’ Continues To Coast; ‘Madea’ Claims Her Spot On The Podium
Domestic: F1 remains in the domestic top three for its third weekend. However, with blockbusters Superman and Jurassic World Rebirth releasing globally, the film has dropped to third place. Regardless, F1 had a strong showing in weekend 28 of 2025, grossing $13.061 million domestically, a 49.3% decrease from the previous weekend, bringing its total domestic gross to a solid $136.256 million against its $200–300 million budget.
Elio also drops down a spot, currently sitting in fifth place. It brought in a domestic gross of $4.036 million, a slight 30.3% drop from last weekend. For its fourth weekend of release, this is a positive sign for the initial box office flounder, but its steep $150 million budget is still far from being remade. The film’s total domestic gross now stands at a disappointing $63.802 million.
Lilo & Stitch continues to shine in its eighth week of release, maintaining its position from last weekend at seventh. The family favorite brought in $2.713 million, only dropping an impressive 31.2% from last weekend. Its total domestic gross now stands at a mind-blowing $414.578 million, solidifying its status as a smash hit both domestically and internationally.
Barely clinging to the top ten is Materialists, which dropped one spot from last weekend to sit at tenth. It brought in a mediocre $720,498 in its fifth week of release, declining 46.5% from last weekend and bringing its total domestic gross to $35.172 million.
International: In Japan, Kokuhô continues to dominate, bringing in a whopping $4.083 million the weekend of Saturday, July 12, 2025, to Sunday, July 13, 2025, only dropping a slight 8.6% from the previous weekend. The film has dominated Japanese box offices since its release on Friday, June 6, 2025, continuing to perform highly even a month into its theatrical run.
Spanish audiences continue to show up for Father There Is Only One 5, which brought in $1.129 million in Spain for the weekend of Friday, July 11, 2025, to Sunday, July 13, 2025, a 24.7% drop from the previous weekend. Since its release on Saturday, June 26, 2025, the film has remained in the top 3 at the Spanish box office.
In the US, Chinese film A Cool Fish 2 is receiving a limited theatrical release starting Friday, July 18, 2025. The sequel to the highly popular 2018 dramedy, A Cool Fish, follows a deal gone wrong as a businessman is pulled into a kidnapping plot by a ruthless criminal organization.

Streaming: KPop Demon Hunters reclaimed the top spot on Netflix’s Global Top 10 English Movies list for the week of Monday, July 7, 2025, to Sunday, July 13, 2025, marking its fourth consecutive week in the top 10. The film accrued a whopping 24.2 million views and 40.4 million hours viewed.
Debuting in second place is Tyler Perry’s Madea’s Destination Wedding, which was released Friday, July 11, 2025. The film accumulated 19.1 million views and 33.1 million hours of viewing time in its first week of release. Despite strong engagement, critics have panned the newest Madea adventure, which sits at a sad 8% critic score on Rotten Tomatoes. Audiences, however, have liked the feature substantially more, awarding it a more forgiving 51%.
The 13th installment in the long-running Madea franchise follows the titular character and her familiar crew as they head to the Bahamas for a family wedding. However, familiar chaos ensues when the bride, Madea’s grandniece, begins to have second thoughts about her groom.
The Old Guard 2 fell two spots to third this week. Released on Wednesday, July 2, 2025, the film garnered 16 million views and 28.5 million viewing hours. Both critics and audiences have been unimpressed; the film currently sits at a measly 22% critic score and 36% audience score on Rotten Tomatoes.
The comic book film is a follow-up to 2020’s The Old Guard, which is also in this week’s top 10 in fifth. The sequel, which picks up immediately after the events of the first film, follows a team of warriors facing off against an evil immortal being while fighting to save humanity.
Infinite dropped down three spots this week to sit in sixth place. In its fourth week in the top 10, the film was watched by 4.2 million viewers, with 7.5 million hours watched. Even though the 2021 release has been given a new life on Netflix, the film was reviewed poorly upon its release, currently sitting at a 17% critic score on Rotten Tomatoes and an equally disappointing 34% audience score.
The sci-fi film follows a man who discovers his hallucinations are in fact reality, which leads him to discover a team of warriors trying to stop their previous team member, Bathurst 2020 (Chiwetel Ejiofor), from tampering with the existing cycles of life and reincarnation.
Plane climbed to seventh place, with 3.3 million views and 5.9 million hours viewed in its fourth week in Netflix’s top 10. Initially released on Friday, January 13, 2023, the film was received positively universally, especially by audiences. The film sits at a 79% critic score and a stellar 94% audience score on Rotten Tomatoes.
The film follows pilot Brodie (Gerard Butler) and an accused murderer, Louis (Mike Colter), who join forces after their plane crashes on an island full of hostile enemies who have kidnapped most of the surviving passengers.
For Netflix’s Non-English Movies Top 10, the Dutch film Almost Cops debuted in second after its Friday, July 11, 2025, release. The buddy-cop comedy follows a special investigator and an ex-detective forced to pair up and hunt down a killer.
Thai zombie-thriller Ziam debuted in third after its Wednesday, July 9, 2025, release. The film follows a Muay Thai fighter who must battle hordes of the undead to save his girlfriend.
Another debut, the Indian Hindi-language film Aap Jaisa Koi, debuted in fourth place. The romantic drama tells the story of two educators with opposite personalities whose relationship is tested after facing disapproval from their families.
