Domestic: Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba- The Movie - Infinity Castle remained in first at the box office for the weekend of Friday, September 19, 2025, to Sunday, September 21, 2025. Following a majorly successful overseas run, the film had its U.S. release on Friday, September 12, 2025, which cemented the film as the highest-grossing anime feature of all time. Infinity Castle earned $17.304 million domestically in its second week of release, down a sharp 75.5% from its debut weekend, but still impressive, raising its total to $104.734 million in the U.S. alone. Along with financial success, the film has been praised universally, now holding a 98% approval rating from both critics and audiences on Rotten Tomatoes.
After its debut on Friday, September 19, 2025, Him landed in second place at the box office, earning $13.252 million in its debut weekend. While in second place on the charts, the film’s opening has been lackluster, proving that it has a long way to go before making back its $27 million budget. Not helping this fact is the film’s reception, which currently sits at a disappointing 29% critic score and somewhat more favorable 58% audience score on Rotten Tomatoes.
Him follows football star Cameron Cade (Tyriq Withers), whose career is put on hold after an attack from a deranged fan. A silver lining appears when Cam’s hero, Isaiah White (Marlon Wayans), reaches out with an offer to train him. Cam, however, has no idea how sinister this offer may actually be.
In fifth place is the survival-thriller film The Long Walk, which earned $6.223 million in its second week of release. Set under an unforgiving military dictatorship, The Long Walk follows a deadly winner-takes-all competition between a group of teenage boys, who must continuously walk at a fixed speed or risk being shot and killed. The film has been positively received, earning an 89% critic and 85% audience score on Rotten Tomatoes.
