Global Flicks: Mubi Announces Theatrical Release of Film ‘The Settlers’

Asia: Golden Kamuy reveals the latest trailer for its 2024 live-action adaptation. The series follows a fictional story of the Russo-Japanese war veteran and his quest for gold. Sigeaki Kubo will direct the series and star Kento Yamazaki, Anna Yamada, Gordon Maeda, Yuma Yamoto, Asuka Kudo, Shuntaro Yanagi, and Mitsuki Takahata. The series will premiere on January 19, 2024.

Hideo Kojima announces that a live-action feature of Death Stranding will be made in collaboration with A24. No cast or other information for the adaptation has been revealed.

Steppenwolf - Blue Finch Film Releasing

Europe: Blue Finch Films has gained worldwide rights to the film Steppenwolf by writer-director Adilkhan Yerzhanov (The Owners). The film follows the brutal story of an unlikely duo who will stop at nothing to find what they seek.

Production has finished for Audrey Diwan’s (Happening) erotic drama Emmanuelle. Rebecca Zlotowski co-wrote the film and will star Noémie Merlant (Portrait Of A Lady On Fire), Naomi Watts (Mulholland Drive), Will Sharpe (The White Lotus), Jamie Campbell Bower (Stranger Things), Chacha Huang (Money Heist) and Anthony Wong (Infernal Affairs).

The Settlers/Los colonos - Quijote Films

Latin America: Luxbox purchased international rights to Reas. The film is written by Lola Arias (Theater of War) and is described as a prison musical where the female and trans-ex-cons process their experiences.

MUBI has announced the US theatrical release of The Settlers/Los colonos. From writer-director Felipe Gálvez, the film follows three horsemen who travel across the Tierra del Fuego tasked with securing his vast state-appointed property. The film will open on January 12 at IFC Center and Laemmle Royal.

Ali Kalthami - Daniele Venturelli

Middle East: Neha Dhupia (A Thursday) and Adil Hussain (Life of Pi) will star in Ali El Arabi‘s Blue 52. The story follows an Indian migrant worker and football fan during Qatar's 2022 FIFA World Cup.

Ali Kalthami’s Night Courier (Mandoob) has beaten Wonka at the local box office in Saudi Arabia. Night Courier is the latest production from Telfaz11 and follows the success of its premiere at the Red Sea International Film Festival.

Yasmina El-Abd has signed Artist International Group (AIG) for U.S. representation. The actress is currently starring in MBC Studios’ musical feature Sukkar and has starred in Netflix's original Finding Ola as well as CBBC's kids ser series Theodosia.
