Industry Insider: Vizio & The Evolution of The Modern TV

William Wang is the co-founder and CEO of Vizio Holding Corporation since its immersion in 2002. Vizio primarily produces home advancement tools most notably known in the technological space, ie: television sets. The mission of the corporation is to create a lifestyle that assists the consumer through daily life and prioritizes seamless convenience. Wang has a long history within the electronic industry as he was previously the CEO of a computer distribution company.  So, with his extensive knowledge, it is clear as to how and why Vizio has seen great success.

One of Vizio’s highly marketed features would be the Smart casting feature along with the Smart TVs that has been a defining feature of the brand. Overall, the corporation has had a hand in the advancement of technology in an overwhelming way. The company’s expansive domain is praised for its affordability and availability from Walmart to Best Buy. The ownership of flat-screen TVs during the early 00s was often seen as a luxury among lower middle-class households. However, Vizio was able to revolutionize the untapped potential of this market corner by making the modern form of television viewing a staple in homes across the country. Potentially being a catalyst for the change in standardized TV screen ratio during this time period as well; the switch went from a 4:3 ratio to a 16:9 ratio. Traditional television had to present closer to the developments of the speedy advancement of quality that modern electronics were offering.

Vizio continues to transform the media and entertainment industry with their Smart TVs. With its high range in accessibility, the company was also able to help popularize the interconnected streaming platform and TV experience. With the apps built into the TV’s display, this eliminates third-party assistance such as Amazon Fire TV Stick or Roku adapters. All of which aligns consistently with the brand’s proclivity to grow the definition of the TV structured paradigm.

Standing at the forefront of innovation has allowed Vizio to magnify their influence and their reach to its consumer base. A notable service that remains harmonious with the seamless convenience of the corporation would be the Vizio account. The account is able to manage all streaming services that the consumer is subscribed to, making it easier to continue to exist within the Vizio ecosystem.

William Wang has contributed to the media in groundbreaking ways through Vizio and its history. Being at the helm of such influence would be a driving force for others in the industry to progress by defining an era and age for technology. This creative flow persists for the diversification of the television viewing experience. Without this level of passion, the industry will grow stale if large spaces in small consumer markets continue to go ignored. Wang is a CEO that allows potential growth to take precedence, over the risk of reinventing societal norms.
