Hard Numbers: ‘20/20’ Hit Second-Highest Year Record, ‘The Katie Phang Show’ Drew Nearly 1M Viewers

News (Daily – Broadcast): CBS Mornings accumulated 2.351 million viewers in the P2+ demographics throughout February. The episode that aired on February 18th hit a record high since 2023 with 2.517 million viewers. ABC’s Good Morning America (GMA) brought in 366,000 and 564,000 viewers in the P18-49 and P25-54 demographics, respectively. NBC News Daily averaged 1.168 million viewers as of February 4th. NBC Nightly News with Lester Holt attracted only 6.721 million P2+ viewers; its viewership decreased gradually to below 7 million for the second month of 2024. At the same time, The Today Show came in with an average audience of 2.787 million P2+ viewers.

KRISTEN WELKER - MEET THE PRESS WITH KRISTEN WELKER/NBC

News (Weekend – Broadcast): As CBS’s second popular program, 60 Minutes pulled in 7.439 million viewers on February 18th, nearly 50% up from its 4.973 million on January 14th. Viewership of another episode on February 25th dropped slightly in the same month. As of February 25th, Meet the Press with Kristen Welker saw a fall in viewership, with 2.613 million viewers tuned in. Likewise, the viewership of Dateline NBC is on the wane, delivering an average of 2.272 million viewers on February 23rd. ABC's 20/20 averaged more than 3 million viewers on February 23rd, marking the second-highest record of this year.

Harris faulker - The Faulkner focus / Fox News

News & Politics (Daily – Cable): On February 16th, MSNBC’s The ReidOut (with Joy Reid) peaked at 1.712 million viewers, within the last three months. Meanwhile, Alex Wagner Tonight reached a record level since last September with 2.136 million viewers on February 16th and a 1.534 million monthly viewership. The Faulkner Focus simultaneously gained a record high of 1.957 million viewers over the previous three months. Outnumbered attracted an average of 1.719 million viewers on Fox News for February, with its highest viewership at 2.155 million. NewsNation’s Morning in America drew in 31,000 monthly audiences. Meanwhile, CNN's Laura Coates Live gathered an average of 349,000 viewers. Fox Business’s Making Money with Charles Payne received a viewership of 163,000. The Chris Salcedo Show on Newsmax pulled in increased viewers, yielding an average viewership of 288,000 in the P2+ group. 

Katie phang - The katie phang show / msnbc

News & Politics (Weekend – Cable): MSNBC’s The Katie Phang Show broke a viewership record since May 2022 with 974,000 viewers on February 17th. Most of its viewership was less than 700,000 in February. On the same day, Ayman averaged a new record of 664,000 viewers after the South Carolina Primary on February 3rd. The Saturday Show with Jonathan Capehart remains the No. 22 ranked program, while The Sunday Show with Jonathan Capehart jumped to the No. 20 spot on MSNBC, despite a low point of 232,000 on the day the Super Bowl kicked off. PoliticsNation with Al Sharpton follows at the No. 24 ranked spot on the channel, reaching a new high point of 691,000 since last year. Switching to CNN, First of All with Victor Blackwell is the No. 20 most popular program on cable, receiving its second-largest viewership since last November of 495,000. Inside Politics amassed 655,000 P2+ viewers in February, hitting a record of 1.084 million for the past three months.

Talk Show: ABC’s GMA3: What You Need to Know was watched by 1.398 million people on February 4th, a 13% decrease compared to the previous month’s 1.612 million viewers. On the same day, The View attracted 2.364 million viewers. Today with Hoda and Jenna invariably dropped to 1.456 million viewers on NBC, while Today Third Hour also went down to 1.947 million viewers.  

MOLLY QERIM & STEPHEN A. SMITH - FIRST TAKE / ESPN

Sports: Pardon the Interruption rose to the fifth most popular show on ESPN. Meanwhile, First Take reached the No. 9 ranking program on the network. The two shows reached record highs of 870,000 and 854,000 viewers, respectively.
