Docuseries: Omar Chaparro, who hosted the Mexican version of Netflix’s Nailed It!, will star in a docuseries about motorcycles. The show is going to be produced by Lionsgate-backed streaming service Pantaya. The show, named Chaparreando, will be presented in six parts. Eugenio Derbez, who starred in Dora and the Lost City of Gold (2019) will be the executive producer alongside Ben Odell. The show will be released October 15.

Genius: Aretha returned to filming October 1 in Atlanta, Georgia. The show is the third installment in a National Geographic series, succeeding episodes about Albert Einstein and Pablo Picasso. The show originally began filming near the end of 2019. Five and a half of the episodes had finished filming before the team had to stop due to the coronavirus pandemic. The show was originally supposed to premiere May 25th, but now the show will not premiere until possibly later this year.

Game Shows:  The first episode of new game show I Can See Your Voice was released September 23, 2020, with the second episode premiering the following Wednesday. The show stars Ken Jeong, who was a key actor in The Hangover series and the movie Crazy Rich Asians, as host. In the show, six singers (some professional musicians, some not) perform, and contestants must determine and match the singers to their voices based on what they look like and sound like. The contestants are aided by a panel of celebrities such as Kelly Osbourne, Cheryl Hines, Adrienne Houghton, Arsenio Hall, and Nick Lachey. 

Season 16 of ABC’s The Bachelorette will premiere Tuesday, October 13 at 8/7p.m. C. The list of contestants competing to have a chance to propose to Clare Crawley include, AJ, Ben, Bennett, Blake Monar, Blake Moynes, Brandon, Brendan, Chasen, Chris, Dale, Demar, Eazy, Ed, Garin, Ivan, Jason, Jay, Jeremy, Joe, Jordan C., Jordan M., Kenny, Mike, Page, Riley, Robby, Tyler C., Tyler S., Yosef, Zac C., and Zach J. There are more contestants on the line-up in order to provide backup in case some contestants get COVID and cannot ‘compete’ on the show.

Competitive Series: Gabrielle Union, who was a judge on America’s Got Talent for one season a year ago, has reached an agreement with NBC. NBC and Union shared that they have found an “amicable resolution” to confront Union’s claims of racial discrimination and misconduct. Union received compensation for the situation after NBC had an investigation completed in May. This was after Union and her lawyer met with Fremantle and Syco, the producers of the show America’s Got Talent. Syco is Simon Cowell’s own production company.

Estrella Media and Sony Music Latin recently partnered for a special edition of Tengo Talento, Mucho Talento (I Have Talent, A Lot Of Talent). On September 21, the latest season titled, Tengo Talento, Tengo Mucho Talento Edición Especial (Special Edition) premiered on EstrellaTV. Estrella Media is one of the leading American broadcasting companies of Hispanic content, and Sony Music Latin is a leading Latin music record label for international superstars such as Shakira. SML was involved in both the show’s casting and the competition components, in addition to the overall PR of the show. In the show, there will be five victorious contestants who will form a band and will together receive $100,000 from EstrellaTV and a chance to be signed by SML. The show is hosted by Luis Coronel and also features guest celebrity hosts.

Lifestyle: Patricia Wilson received a promotion on behalf of Entertainment Studios on September 17. She will now be working as an executive vice president of JusticeCentralTV. Wilson will continue her duties as executive producer and showrunner for five different shows in current production. These shows include: America’s Court with Judge Ross, Justice for All with Judge Cristina Perez and The Verdict with Judge Hatchett. A five-time Daytime Emmy Nominee, she joined Entertainment Studios in 2010. She specializes in courtroom shows but has also worked on Extra, Inside Edition, America’s Most Wanted and Black Enterprise Magazine.

Daily 30-minute syndicated courtroom series and 2012 Daytime Emmy Award Nominee America’s Court With Judge Ross has been picked up by Byron Allen’s Entertainment Studios for seven more seasons. America’s Court With Judge Ross is Entertainment Studios’ first and longest running court series, featuring former Los Angeles County Superior Court Judge Kevin A. Ross. Entertainment Studios is owned by comedian and businessman Byron Allen, who runs Allen Media Group
