Reality Beat: Keke Palmer Newest Host Of NBC’s 'Password' Revival, Bow Wow Makes Comeback To BET As Dating Show Host & 'RuPaul’s Drag Race Mexico' and Brazil Announced

Game Show: Nope (2022) star Keke Palmer is the newest host of NBC’s Password. The gameshow revival premiered on August 9 and is reportedly faithful to its original 1960s format. Celebrities are teamed up with everyday contestants to guess the password using single-word clues. Palmer was praised for her hosting abilities in the first episode that featured Jimmy Fallon, who produces the show, as the celebrity contestant. Episodes are available to stream on Peacock the day after airing.

The "2022 40 Under 40” honors Joey Femia and Aileen Del Cid for their accomplishments as young T.V. executives. Joey Femia, the Vice President of Current Programming, oversees shows like American Song Contest, That's My Jam, and College Bowl. Aileen Del Cid is the Head of Marketing for Samsung T.V. Plus and previously worked in distribution marketing at Game Show Network. The 42 young executives were recognized for their accomplishments in a live event in Beverly Hills as the event was part of Future's LA TV week last month.

Pluto TV, a free streaming outlet by Paramount Global, launched channels dedicated to many syndicated gameshow favorites, including Let’s Make a Deal. Pluto TV reportedly has more than 68 million monthly active users and streams more than 1,000 channels around the world, both live and on demand.

Bow Wow - BET

Competitive Series: Bow Wow returns to BET as host of the new dating series: After Happily Ever After. The eight-episode series will premier this fall and features couples who were once in long-term relationships that ended in divorce or separation, with one ex playing matchmaker for the other. Tiffany Lea Williams, Executive Vice President of BET Unscripted Programming, said in a statement: "We look forward to airing this entertaining dating series that will help singles find love. This show promises to be full of surprises, twists, and turns that will leave viewers asking for more."

RuPaul, the self-proclaimed Queen of Drag, expands her Drag Race Franchise further with Drag Race Brazil and Mexico announcements. These two series will mark 16 total international spin-offs of the original Emmy Award-winning program that just concluded its seventh All Stars All-Winners season last month on Paramount+. The official World of Wonder Twitter account made the news, the production company that has produced the competition series since its debut in 2009.

Following their run as a finalist on RuPaul's Drag Race All-Winners Season, Shea Couleé will join the Marvel Cinematic Universe in the upcoming Disney+ series Ironheart, starring Dominque Thorne.

Lauren Lake - Allen Media Group

Court: Allen Media Group’s newest courtroom show, We the People With Judge Lauren Lake to launch this fall in 95% of U.S. broadcast syndication markets. Judge Lake is a family lawyer and legal analyst who hosted the Emmy-winning court show: Lauren Lake’s Paternity Court. In a statement regarding the new series, Lake said, “I am very excited about We the People with Judge Lauren Lake, and I’m thrilled to be working with Byron Allen,” she said, “Byron’s creative vision and commitment to creating high-quality television programs and networks is unparalleled in this industry. I am enthusiastic and highly confident that we will deliver another first-class television court series.”

In September, Star Jones will succeed Faith Jenkins as the next judge on Season 24 of Divorce Court. Jones is best known for co-hosting The View and has years of experience in law, becoming the first female and Black person to serve as a T.V. arbitrator in 1994 with a court show Jones & Jury and as an NYC homicide prosecutor, correspondent, and assistant district attorney.  Since January, Jenkins has been the executive producer and host of Killer Relationship With Faith Jenkins on Oxygen.

Joanna gaines - NBC

Lifestyle:  Following the merger between Discovery and WarnerMedia companies, select titles, including Fixer Upper, from Joanna Gaines' Magnolia Network will be streaming on HBO Max in September. Fixer Upper: The Castle will also premiere on HBO Max and Dicovery+ as a spin-off of the original HGTV series in October. Gaines started the network with her husband after the major success of Fixer Upper on HGTV. The network would later be relaunched as the replacement for Discovery's DIY Network, becoming the source of home improvement lifestyle shows.
