Demos: CBS Tops Broadcast, TUDN Leads Spanish Language Networks, YouTube Continues To Dominate Streaming

Broadcast: Carrying over the number one spot from March, CBS had 117.0 million viewers. NBC followed close behind with 93.4 million viewers and ABC with 86.8 million viewers. FOX had 42.0 million viewers and The CW closed out the rankings with 13.5 million viewers. Unlike previous months, only one network experienced a major spike anomaly within the month. The CW saw 1.2 million people tune in on April 11, 2026. This is potentially related to the airing of NASCAR racing programming.

Cable: BET continued to lead cable networks with 499,000 viewers with the next closest networks being Magnolia Network (375,000) OWN (305,000) and The Weather Channel (257,000). Following the top three are Justice Central (46,000), BET Her (44,000) and CleoTV (40,000). Closing out the ranks is Comedy.TV with 26,000 viewers. These rankings remain the same as March with the only difference being BET Her and Justice Central swapping places. Every network dropped to roughly half their March viewership, though this may be due to a difference in data availability. The weekly averages between the two months do still suggest a drop in viewership across all the networks to a smaller degree than total viewership.

Spanish Language: TUDN continues to be the top of the Spanish language networks with 358,000 viewers in April. Universo followed with 201,000 and Galavisión with 117,000. The next round of networks in the ranks include Discovery Español (89,000), Fox Deportes (86,000), ESPN Deportes (59,000), Nat Geo Mundo (45,000), CNN Español (38,000) and Discovery Familia (35,000). Pulling up the end of the rankings are Galanovelas with 10,000 viewers and BeIN Sports Español 9,000 viewers. This is a decline in viewership across every network from March with the most notable changes being the drop in Fox Deportes viewership from 498,000 to 86,000, TUDN from 660,000 to 358,000 and Universo from 336,000 to 201,000. These differences, though, may be attributed to data inconsistency as weekly averages do not demonstrate the same level of disparity between the months.

Streaming Viewership by Percentage

Percentage of streaming viewership per Nielsen’s The Gauge(TM) January, 2026 data.

Streaming: Streaming accounted for 47.6% of TV viewership in March. YouTube maintained its first position in streaming with 27.7% of the streaming viewership. Netflix (17.2%), Disney+ (11.1%) and Prime Video (8.0%) followed. Subsequent platforms in percentage were Roku (6.3%), Tubi (4.6%), Paramount+ (4.6%), Peacock (3.8%) and Warner Bros. Discovery (2.9%), with the remaining share being split among other platforms. There was only one position change among the remaining services with Peacock dropping four spots from February. This is likely a return to typical monthly viewership after the Olympics. The largest percentage change was Disney+ increasing by 3.0% with Peacock’s drop (-2.5%) being the next biggest change. YouTube had an increase of 1.2% and all other networks had a 0.1%-0.3% change in either direction. Tubi was the only network that did not see any changes.
