Broadcast: NBC has had many tough decisions to make during the past year with many of its bubble shows under-performing and forcing cancelation Deadline reports 4 for 4 of NBC’s bubble shows have now been canceled, Zoey’s Extraordinary Playlist, Debris, Manifest, and now Good Girls. Despite all of this Good Girls is still averaging a strong showing for its final episodes as the run comes to an end later this month. Starring Christina Hendricks, Reba, and Mae Whitman as three suburban moms fed up with their lives and get in over their heads after they get away with a successful supermarket robbery. An average of almost 1.5 million viewers over the last two weeks would seem to be a very strong showing for a show of this size though with the projected budget of season 2 and season 3 averaging 40 million dollars it grew simply too expensive to produce. Despite the critical favor and beloved fan base that passionately has been voicing its concerns over its cancellation Good Girls also has a healthy amount of viewers on Netflix that was signed when it premiered and has appeared on the top ten most popular Netflix shows. Good Girls is ending on NBC, but will continue to be available to stream on Netflix.

Cable: Betty is a new show from HBO following a group of young Generation Z girls grating against the patriarchal framework of society and the male dominated world of skateboarding in the streets of New York. The second season has been just as acclaimed as the first with a very small budget despite its performance. It is another good show for HBO to keep around for a while and give experience to a lot of unknown performers as it is easy and inexpensive to make, begin shot fully on location in NYC and with a small cast comprised of unknowns and up and coming actors such as Dede Lovelace, Moonbear a.k.a. Kabrina Adams, Nina Moran, Ajani Russell, and Rachelle Vinberg. Betty has been performing okay for a summer indie show on Cable with an average of 154,000 viewers every night at its peak the past two weeks. Betty airs on HBO Fridays at 11.

Streaming: HBO Max has been doing a whole lot attempting to corner the market on over the top services by giving subscribers access to exclusive movie premieres, shows, and content that can only be found on its platform, and by the amount of diverse content they have been successful over the past year of guaranteeing their seat at the streaming table. One of these diverse new shows aimed at a younger audience is a reboot of a classic CW drama.
