78th Annual Primetime Emmy Awards Nominations

The 78th Primetime Emmy Awards nominations were announced on July 8, 2026, in a virtual broadcast hosted by actor Jeff Hiller and actress Liza Colon-Zayas.
Highlights of the announcement featured many people of color. Abbott Elementary led the scripted television categories with five nominations within the comedy categories.
The main ceremony will air live from the Peacock Theater in Downtown Los Angeles, California, on Sunday, Friday 14, 2026, on NBC at 8:00 PM PST/5:00 PM EST. The ceremony will air live on NBC and be available to stream live and on demand on Peacock.
PEOPLE OF COLOR NOMINATION BREAKDOWN
Asian: There were 4 Asian nominees in 2026, up from 1 in 2025.
Arab: For people of Arab heritage, the total number of nominees increased from 0 in 2025 to 2 in 2026.
Black: There were 21 Black nominees in 2026. This is down 1 from 2025.
Hispanic: There were 3 nominees in 2026. This is the same as in 2025.
Indigenous: There were 0 nominees in 2025. The same as in 2025.
Diverse: As the industry continues producing programming with racially diverse casts, judges, and hosts, the nominations remain the same at 25 for 2026 as they were in 2025.
