81st Annual Golden Globe Awards Nominations

The 81st Annual Golden Globes award nominations were announced on December 11, 2023. It will be hosted by Cedric the Entertainer and Wilmer Valderrama.

Highlights of the announcement featured many people of color. On the film categories, Past Lives received the most nominations of any POC-centered film with four nominations in total. In the television categories, Netflix viewership juggernaut Beef received three nominations as the most nominated POC-centered television series.

In a repeat from 2022, Jenna Ortega received her second reading nomination for the television crime dramedy Only Murders in the Building, and the mockumentary sitcom Abbott Elementary retained its second series nomination.

  • Asian: There were 12 nominees in 2023.

  • Latino: There were two nominees in 2023.

  • Indigenous: there was one nomination in 2023.

  • Diverse: As the industry continues producing programming with racially diverse casts there were 14 nominations in 2023.

The ceremony will be held on January 7, 2024, at The Beverly Hilton in Beverly Hills, California, and air live on CBS.
