The Television Academy’s selection of Liza Colón-Zayas and Jeff Hiller to announce the 2026 Emmy nominations highlights two performers whose recent Emmy wins have raised their profiles across the television industry.

Colón-Zayas and Hiller will reveal the nominations for the 78th Emmy Awards on Wednesday, July 8, 2026, marking the official start of this year’s Emmy race. The announcement will be streamed live from the Television Academy’s Wolf Theatre in Los Angeles.

Both actors represent recent Emmy success stories. Colón-Zayas won Outstanding Supporting Actress in a Comedy Series for her role as Tina Marrero on The Bear, becoming the first Latina to win in that category. Hiller earned his first Primetime Emmy Award for Outstanding Supporting Actor in a Comedy Series for his portrayal of Joel on Somebody Somewhere, the critically acclaimed comedy that concluded its run in 2024.

The choice of presenters continues the Academy’s tradition of featuring recent Emmy winners during the nominations announcement. Both actors have been recognized by the Television Academy for their work in comedy series in recent years.

The nominations announcement will set the stage for the 78th Primetime Emmy Awards, which will air in September on NBC and stream on Peacock.

As networks and streaming platforms await this year’s nominations, the announcements will offer an early look at the programs and performances expected to shape the Emmy conversation. Major contenders are expected to include favorites such as The Bear, Hacks, and Shrinking, while several comedy and drama acting categories are anticipated to be among the most closely watched races.
