Demos: NBC Dominates Broadcast, TUDN And BET Maintain Their Top Spots In Cable And Spanish Networks

Broadcast: NBC took the top spot among the networks in May, garnering 133.3 million viewers. CBS followed with 110.3 million viewers and ABC with 84.7 million viewers. Pulling up the end of the rankings were FOX with 39.5 million viewers and The CW with 14.4 million viewers. Most networks retained similar viewership numbers as April with the exception of NBC increasing by 40.1 million viewers, resulting in its jump to first place among the others. NBC and The CW both experienced one spike on May 30, 2026 with 12.7 million viewers and 1.0 million viewers. The NBC spike is potentially attributed to The Soccer Tournament that was airing that weekend and The CW’s is likely related to the airing of NASCAR’s Practice & Qualifying programming. ABC had a spike on May 23, 2026 with 7.9 million viewers with no clear cause.

Cable: BET maintained its lead among cable networks with 666,000 viewers in May. Magnolia Network followed with 535,000 viewers then OWN with 416,000 and The Weather Channel with 284,000. After these top four, the remaining four networks drop below the six digits: Justice Central (78,000), BET Her (44,000), Comedy.TV (43,000) and CleoTV (39,000). Most of the networks slightly increased in their weekly average viewership with only CleoTV and The Weather Channel decreasing. The only change in ranking order from April was CleoTV and Comedy.TV swapping places.

Spanish Language: TUDN remained the leader in Spanish Language networks in May with 394,000 viewers. Following TUDN, the next networks were Universo with 216,000 viewers and Galavisión with 109,000 viewers.The next three networks in the ranking had fairly close total viewership: ESPN Deportes (92,000), Discovery Español (82,000) and Fox Deportes (70,000). The final four that wrapped up the rankings were also close to each other in their viewership. These four were Discovery Familia (49,000), Nat Geo Mundo (31,000), CNN Español (25,000) and BeIN Sports Español (16,000). GalaNovelas was not included in this ranking as no Prime Time data was available for the network. Most networks experienced a drop in average weekly viewership with the exception of BeIN Sports Español, ESPN Deportes and Discovery Familia.

Streaming: Streaming accounted for 47.6% of TV viewership in April, maintaining the same percentage of share as March. YouTube continued its longstanding reign within the category, with 28.2% of the streaming viewership. Netflix (16.4%), Disney+ (10.5%) and Prime Video (8.8%) followed. Subsequent platforms in percentage were Roku (6.3%), Tubi (4.8%), Paramount+ (4.4%), Peacock (3.6%) and Warner Bros. Discovery (3.2%), with the remaining share being split among other platforms. This ranking is the same from the previous month with all percentage changes occurring within <1%.
