Ratings Report: ‘Hacks’ Ends With High Praise, ‘XO, Kitty’ Declines In Ratings, ‘Going Dutch’ Closes Neutrally With Its Audience
Broadcast: Going Dutch is a sitcom on FOX that wrapped its second, and final, season recently. The season garnered 2.4 million P18-49 viewers (averaging 203,050 viewers per episode) and a 0.15 average episode P18-49 rating. This is a marginal drop off from the first season which averaged 207,900 viewers (2.1 million total) and a 0.16 rating. The second season does have a lower range of ratings than season one. The lowest rated episode being the premiere episode (0.10 rating) and the lowest of season one being the finale (0.11 rating). The highest rated in season two were episodes three and 11 with 0.19 ratings and the highest in season one was episode two with a 0.22 rating. There are not a sufficient number of reviews to compare between seasons that would point to any particular reason for these declines.
Going Dutch focuses on Colonel Patrick Quinn, played by Denis Leary (Rescue Me, The Thomas Crown Affair), after he is reassigned to Garrison Stroopsdorf in the Netherlands. The series ensemble comprises other military personnel on the base that Quinn has to work with, including his own estranged daughter. Leary is joined by Taylor Misiak (Dave, Players), Danny Pudi (Community, Mythic Quest), Laci Mosley (The Out-Laws, Yes We Cannabis) and Hal Cumpston (Bilched, The Greatest Beer Run Ever). As of May 2026, the series was canceled but both seasons are still available to watch on Prime Video.
Cable: Hacks has recently finished releasing its fifth and final season. Thus far, season five has received a 100% critics rating across 25 reviews and 74% audience rating across 50+ reviews. These are both 2% increases from season four’s 98% critics rating across 42 reviews and 72% audience rating across 250+ reviews. Reviews across both seasons and both audiences praise the writing, performances, and character relationships. The main difference between the season reviews that could be the cause of the higher ratings is an additional emphasis on the emotional and sentimental weight of the final season and the finale.
Hacks is a dramedy about the developing working relationship between Las Vegas stand-up comedian, Deborah Vance, and her new head writer, Ava Daniels. Vance is portrayed by Jean Smart (Babylon, 24) and Daniels by Hannah Einbinder (Teenage Sex and Death at Camp Miasma, North Hollywood). They are joined by Carl Clemons-Hopkins (Candyman, La méduse rouge), Megan Stalter (The Megan Stalter Show, Please Don't Destroy: The Treasure of Foggy Mountain), Paul W. Downs (Broad City, Rough Night), Rose Abdoo (Good Night, and Good Luck., Bad Teacher) and Mark Indelicato (Ugly Betty, White Bird in a Blizzard). Hacks airs on Thursdays at 9:00 p.m. EST/PST on HBO and is available to stream on HBO Max.
Streaming: XO, Kitty released its third season in April 2026 to 23.7 million viewers who watched a cumulative 102.9 million hours. In its first release week, it held the number one spot of the Netflix Top Ten. It remained in the Top Ten for another two weeks at the second and fourth spots respectively. Both viewership and hours watched declined by about half between week one and week two then by another half between week two and week three. Season two of the series received an 83% critics rating across 18 reviews and a 67% audience rating across 100+ reviews while season three dropped to a 59% critics rating across 17 reviews and 57% audience rating across 500+ reviews. It appears that this difference is largely due to a growing dislike of the writing and storylines the series chose to go with. While many reviews of season two don’t mind some of these choices due to the charm of the clichés, season three’s reviews find it rushed and confusing. Across both seasons, reviews repeatedly praise Anna Cathcart’s (To All the Boys I’ve Loved Before, Descendants 3) charming performance as Kitty and how bubbly the series is overall.
XO, Kitty is a romance dramedy that follows Kitty Song-Covey, the youngest sister from the To All the Boys I’ve Loved Before movie series, after she moves to Korea to attend school and reconnect with her late mother’s roots. Cathcart is joined by Gia Kim (Burning Questions, Happy Ending), Sang Heon Lee (Gran Turismo, Secret Ingredient), Choi Min-yeong (Dream Palace, Weak Hero Class 1), Anthony Keyvan (Love, Victor, Alexa & Katie), Regan Aliyah (Ironheart, Please Don’t Feed the Children) and several other main cast members. As of the time of writing, there is no confirmation of a fourth season. XO, Kitty is available to stream on Netflix.
