Viewing Figures: ‘Our Golden Days’ Maintains #1 K-Drama Position, ‘General Hospital’s’ Ratings Increase

South Korea: The KBS2 drama Our Golden Days has remained the number one ongoing drama series since its debut in August 2025. Airing every Saturday and Sunday, the series averaged 17.16 percent of viewership in South Korea, achieving its highest ratings to date. The December 28 episode was the highest rating Our Golden Days has achieved thus far, reaching 19 percent of national viewership.

On the other hand, other dramas didn’t achieve the same ratings success. The KBS2 drama Last Summer averaged just 1.9 percent of viewership in December 2025, fewer than any of its competitors. However, the series only aired two episodes during the month, on December 6 and 7.

Netflix: In December 2025, the highest-rated non-English language drama on Netflix was the South Korean series Cashero, which averaged 4.95 million views over the month. The drama remained in the top 10 of the Netflix rankings during the last two weeks of the month, peaking during the week of December 29 with 6.1 million views. Meanwhile, the third season of the Argentine drama Envious scored only 0.9 million views, fewer than any other non-English language drama in December.

United States: The CBS soap opera The Young and the Restless maintained its long-held position as the top-rated daytime drama in the United States in December. With 2.88 million viewers, the soap’s ratings remained consistent with its November figures. Meanwhile, CBS’s The Bold and the Beautiful built on its November numbers, achieving 2.62 million viewers in December, a 3.10 percent increase from the previous month.

Fellow CBS soap opera Beyond the Gates also maintained steady ratings, scoring 1.56 million viewers in December, matching its November figures. However, daytime’s newest drama has remained the lowest-rated soap opera on the air since its debut, despite airing after two highly rated serials. Moreover, ABC’s General Hospital, the longest-running American soap opera currently in production, achieved 1.88 million viewers in December, a slight increase from its November average.
