Viewing Figures: ‘Recipe for love’ Remains on Top; Daytime soaps stay Consistent
South Korea: The KBS2 series Recipe for Love continued to dominate the ratings in March. Airing every Saturday and Sunday, the series averaged 15% of nationwide viewership, ranking highly above its competition. The top-rated drama in South Korea was down slightly in viewership from its February average of 15.95% nationwide. The March 8 episode of Recipe for Love saw its highest ratings to date, with 18% of viewership nationwide. Trailing closely behind was tvN’s Undercover Miss Hong, which averaged 12.43% of viewership in the nation.
The romantic melodrama Still Shining didn’t see the same ratings success. The JTBC series averaged only 1.26% of nationwide viewership, ranking as the lowest-rated series in the nation. Debuting at the beginning of March, Still Shining aired two episodes every Friday until its conclusion on April 3.
Netflix: On the streaming side, the first season of Detective Hole ranked slightly behind, scoring 5.9 million views. At the bottom of the streaming ratings was a tie between Undercover Miss Hong and the first season of Doc, averaging just 900,000 views in March.
United States: Daytime dramas have seen stable ratings throughout 2026. The CBS soap opera The Young and the Restless, which has ranked as the highest-rated daytime drama for more than three decades, averaged 3.27 million viewers in March, consistent with its previous monthly ratings. Meanwhile, The Bold and the Beautiful ranked closely behind with 2.84 million viewers, also matching its monthly averages.
Beyond the Gates, while still the lowest-rated daytime drama in the United States, also retained a stable viewership in March. Daytime’s newest drama achieved a total of 1.7 million views throughout March. The longest-running American soap opera currently in production, ABC’s General Hospital, saw stable viewing figures, scoring 2.13 million viewers over the course of March.
