Global Flicks: Erige Sehiri’s ‘Promised Sky’ Acquired For North American Release, Tondero Opens Offices In Spain

Africa: Independent U.S. distributor Film Movement has acquired the North American rights to the new French-Tunisian film Promised Sky, directed by Erige Sehiri. Premiering earlier this year at the Cannes Film Festival under the Un Certain Regard category and receiving rave reviews, it is a must-watch for many. The film has yet to announce a release date officially.
Asia: The Taiwan Creative Content Fest is gearing up, and this year’s edition of the festival is a must-see for international content. Running from Tuesday, November 4, 2025, to Friday, November 7, 2025, this year's event features a record 118 exhibitors, accompanied by milestone debuts of national pavilions from countries such as South Korea, France, Thailand, the Philippines, and Hong Kong. The festival hopes to continue showcasing content creators' work on a world stage.

Latin America: One of Peru’s most important production companies, Tondero, run by Miguel Valladares, has officially opened its doors in Madrid, Spain, following its fifth co-production with the country. Its newest collaboration is A Family (Una Familia). The collaboration is historic for Tondero, as it creates a path for the production company to officially have offices in Spain and begin more production within the country.
