K-Drama Official Review: ‘Our Golden Days’

Our Golden Days is a South-Korean television drama series that airs on KBS2. The series features an ensemble cast and tells the story of older and new generations who discover the true meaning of family by learning to understand and share each other’s pain. Premiering on Aug. 9, 2025, Our Golden Days airs new episodes every Saturday and Sunday at 20:00 PM KST.

Main Characters

Our Golden Days features three characters in the main cast: Lee Ji-hyeok (Jung Il-woo), a leader in both his professional and romantic life. Ji Eun-oh (Jung In-sun) is a warm-hearted café manager and interior designer, who lives her life without regrets. Park Sung-jae (Yoon Hyun-min) is a third-generation Chaebol who seems perfect in appearance, personality, ability, and family, and close friend of Lee.

Episode Format

Our Golden Days, Lee’s family members are playing a major supporting role. One of the obstacles Lee faces after becoming engaged to Jeong Bo Ah is his, his family’s disapproval. Viewers can learn more about his familial background through this conflict. Lee confesses that, because he had to work so hard for everything in his life, getting married and having someone to support him no matter what makes him feel secure. His family members, particularly his parents, Lee Sang-cheol (Chun Ho-jin), Kim Da-jeong (Kim Hee-jung), and Grandmother Jo Ok-rye (Ban Hyo-jung) are incredibly hurt to hear this and explain that despite not being born with a silver spoon in his mouth, he still has a great life.

Final Verdict

Our Golden Days is most definitely worth a binge. Not only is it entertaining from the jump, but it’s an excellent study of culture. Despite being set across the world, audiences from all countries can relate to the core themes of family, love, and relationships.
